Towering above the Vail Valley is the iconic Gore Range. This jagged collection of stunning peaks that frames in the world famous town was once the training area for the 10th Mountain Division - a specialized division of the armed forces used in WWII in the high mountians of the Alps. Member of the 10th MD came back after the war and set their sites on developing the ski area we know as Vail today.
